WebDAV is an internet-based protocol that takes the internet to the next level by allowing updates to content stored on servers through an easy drag-and-drop interface.  This means extending the internet from just Browsers into Operating System-File Explorer tools that allow drag-and-drop manipulation of file content.

The SurroundApps WebDAV product  facilitates quick development of such drag-and-drop WebDAV interfaces. Although some content servers have native WebDAV support, when Web Applications need to integrate with their own custom Security mechanism, then a customized WebDAV implmentation is necessary.

SurroundApps WebDAV solution  is a cost-effective solution towards implementing WebDAV. It supports all the WebDAV functionality, such as getting files, copy/move/rename/delete files or folders, locking file content, updating files, etc. The implementation is scalable to a large number of users. Currently it runs on a thin java layer, which can be run on any Java Appplication.
